Thanks to everyone who joined us last weekend for our combined engagement/going away party. We had such a great time and feel extremely lucky to have so many wonderful people in our lives. And boy, can some of them cook! ...and carve! ...and renovate a garden! Everyone put in such a great effort!
We now have a long list of potential places to visit, thanks to everyone’s suggestions!

Over the long weekend we are going to be working on the house getting it ready to rent out, and finalising the bits and pieces we need to pack for our trip. There’s still quite a few things we need to buy, so we’re also working out how we are going to spend the generous vouchers that we received as engagement presents!

Great party, amazing catering - but I get the impression that that's how you guys do things (: It was fun to meet a couple of the other people in your lives.
I hope all of your preparation goes well and I'm looking forward to living vicariously through this blog. Don't feel pressured though - I have no idea how you're going to make time to stop and muck around on a computer when you're out enjoying the great wide brown land.
